Corona virus relationship to chronic liver disease

We have noticed during this period, chronic hepatitis patients' anxiety about the increased risk of infection with the Corona virus
We have noticed during this period, chronic hepatitis patients' anxiety about the increased risk of infection with the Corona virus and the severe anticipation of any pulmonary or extra pulmonary symptoms that patients suspect of being infected with the virus. Therefore we present in this article what matters about this issue in order to eliminate this anxiety and also increase the awareness of those who are more vulnerable to infection and being affected by the virus.
Several research centers have suggested that patients with chronic viral hepatitis are not more likely to be affected by the virus except in some cases which are:
- The presence of decompensated liver cirrhosis.. Meaning the presence of liver cirrhosis with affected laboratory analyzes, which shows impaired liver function or the appearance of symptoms of liver failure such as abdominal ascites or jaundice, hepatic encephalopathy or renal failure.
- The presence of a disease accompanying hepatitis, such as hypertension or diabetes mellitus, especially if the patient is not controlling them by being compliant to treatment and precautions, as well as the presence of coronary heart disease or any of the chronic heart diseases.
-The presence of insufficient kidney functions associated with hepatitis.
-The presence of any immune diseases.
-During pregnancy and jet.
-Patients on steroids, chemotherapy, or immunosuppressant.
-Patients with hepatitis over the age of seventy.
-Excessive obesity, with a body mass index above 40.

 

- In the case of liver tumors.
